Frequently Asked Questions
Question: I wanted to protect my garden from strays, but my neighbour (at the side) has a pet dog. Can I use the AnimalChaser?
Answer: Yes. You may want to position the AnimalChaser facing the front door (instead of towards your side neighbour. If there is a wall (cement) separating your neighbour and your house, then it doesn't matter where you face the AnimalChaser as the ultrasonic waves does not penetrate walls. The main reason is that ultrasonic waves are just sound waves. Just simply position it facing the general direction which you know strays are coming in from.

Question: I rear Kois in my garden pond. Is it safe to use the AnimalChaser?
Answer: Yes. The AnimalChaser has no effect on Kois, and for that matter, no effect on fishes.

Question: I have a pet dog but I hate cats coming into my garden. Can I use the AnimalChaser and is it safe?
Answer: Yes. You can use the AnimalChaser and turn it on at night especially if you keep your pet dog indoors. Anyway, the AnimalChaser will not harm either cats or dogs and is perfectly safe to use.

Question: I want to restrict my dog to the rear yard during daytime but would like to give him some freedom of movement at night. Can I use the AnimalChaser?
Answer: Yes. Install one unit facing the front yard and leave the AnimalChaser on during daytime. Simply turn it off during the night. Since it is your pet dog, it will take sometime for it to be 'restricted' as he is familiar with your environment

Question: I have two dogs, one about 3 years old while the other is about 7 years old. They were both sleeping when I switched on the AnimalChaser. Why does the younger dog woke up and walk away from the device while the older one woke up, was very alert for about 10 minutes, but then continue to sleep on the same spot after this?
Answer: The AnimalChaser is MOST effective against stray dogs (and cats) where they are not familiar with the surrounding environment. It will take a longer time to affect the owner's dogs since they are living there. Younger dogs have a better sense of hearing which explained why it got up and went away. The older dog is certainly not deaf since it woke up as well. But due to old age and familiarity with the living environment, it takes a longer time for it to be disturbed enough by the ultrasonic noise. If the device is left on for a longer period of time, the older dog will ultimately move away from the protected area. Nevertheless, the AnimalChaser will not harm any dog/cat - regardless of whether it is strays or pets.

Question: There was this cat (I think it is just one) that came into our garden almost every night and 'do its business' on almost the SAME spot. What can you recommend?
Answer: The AnimalChaser is PERFECT for this problem. The ultrasonic noise generated by AnimalChaser will deter it from coming into your garden in the first place. (Editor's Note: Immediately after installing the AnimalChaser, the cat had stopped going into the user's garden from that night onwards.)

Question: Why is it that I can hear a 'clicking' sound from the AnimalChaser?
Answer: It is normal for certain persons (who have more sensitive ears) to hear some clicking sound. As the AnimalChaser generates ultrasonic sounds within a frequency band, humans with sensitive hearing might hear some noise (in particular, the clicking sound, as the transducer is working) but this is harmless to humans. If need be, turn off the unit during the day time and turn it on during the night when strays are normally active.

Question: Why does the LED light blinks occasionally?
Answer: The blinking is caused by the transducer generating ultrasonic waves within a frequency band. This is normal when the unit is working properly.
